Comfort Food.

Considerable Pints.

Consider yourself family.

Three Cod. A place where we all meet for a pint, families share a meal together, or friends catch up over Sunday brunch. A family affair in the truest sense as the Percy Brothers join their parents at the helm, but the entire staff make you feel at home.

The menu is our take on classic Tavern fare: comfort food for all of New England’s seasons paired with a curated selection of craft beers, old standbys, and a rotating menu of cocktails designed in house.

Our Beginnings.

You’ll see Golden Cods over many Marblehead doors - a New England marine staple welcoming guests, and representing safety and wealth.

The original Three Cods Tavern opened for business back in 1660, a bastion for local fishermen and boat builders after a hard day's work. Located just steps from the harbor on Front Street, the Tavern kept bodies warm and happy with a roaring fire and flowing whiskey. It quickly became the most popular pub in town.

Where Three Cod sits today is the site of one of the oldest community eateries in Marblehead. Dill’s Restaurant, named after its owner, Glover “Dill” Broughton, opened its doors here in 1946. Dill’s remained one of the most popular dining establishments on the North Shore for more than 30 years. A few other places have called this spot home, but none have paid tribute to the rich history of Marblehead, its people, and its folklore, like the Three Cod.
